The University of Leicester Engineering Department have been irreplaceable in their support and help they have given us. A special mention of our gratitude is for the workshop department, who have dedicated hundreds of hours over the years to help make our concepts a reality.

APT

We are extremely thankful to APT who have provided us with the machining of the spacers for our race car for the past two years. They are of the finest quality through their perfected automatic turning mechanism which allows accurate finish and fast production time. UOL Racing thank Textreme who have provided the carbon fibre material that will be used for our bodywork and diffuser. Textreme work with high-profile clients in the motorsport industry and produce the highest quality carbon fibre available. Carbon fibre is the optimal material for our bodywork and will ensure the car is optimised for performance.

Formwell Plastics Limited

UOL Racing wish to extend their thanks to Formwell Plastics Limited for the use of their CNC machine and provision of PVC plastics which will be used in the battery side pods of our car. Formwell’s highly experienced workforce, coupled with their specialisation of injection moulding, vacuum forming, fabrication and CNC routing has meant that their final products are of the highest quality.

StrainSense

UOL Racing would like to extend their gratitude to StrainSense for providing the team with a linear potentiometer for use in our pedal assembly, within the brake plausibility circuit. The circuit is designed to detect implausibility between the brake pedal, position sensor and the accelerator torque encoder which is crucial for the safety of the car and indeed, the driver.

VANDAPOWER

A huge thanks to VANDAPOWER for supporting us with high voltage and high current connectors for use with our Accumulator Containers and the High Voltage Disconnect. This includes the pilot and auxilliary contact which adds a further dimension to our safety requirements.

ALH Systems

A huge thanks to ALH Systems who are providing the team with essential fire resistant resin that will be used in the fire wall around the driver. The resin is high motorsport quality, that will be important for protecting the driver in-case of emergency. ALH Systems customer satisfaction is paramount in everything they do and this is evident in their work and communication.

We would like the thank the anodising company for their fast, efficient and more importantly top quality service. The appearance of key components rely solely upon their fantastic service, it has been a pleasure working with a local company.

Epson Europe

University of Leicester Racing are incredibly grateful to Epson Europe for providing the team with a label maker. This will be incredibly useful in our workshop for both organisation and manufacturing.

KS Composites

We thank KS Composites for aiding the team with the machining of the moulds and manufacture of the carbon fibre bodywork. KS Composites have a prestigious reputation with high calibre clients so we are grateful for the time they have taken to advise us on our designs. Their commitment to quality means they can offer full traceability of materials along with final QA with full reporting from mobile CMM arm.

Willans

Willans provide the custom made harness for the car, ensuring that our driver is safe as well as making sure that the car is as lightweight as possible.

Ultimaker

The Team has been lucky enough this year to be loaned a 3D printer from Ultimaker, this has made prototyping components considerably cheaper, easier and faster. We would like to express our gratitude for this generosity and look forward to being able to show off the components that we are now able to create in house.

Solidworks Software

Without access to Solidworks CAD software for every engineer it would have been impossible for us to design any components. We cannot thank Solidworks enough as without them the team simply couldn't function.

Stakesys provide us with half price tools - ensuring that we always have the right tool for the job as soon as we need it.

Philidas

As any racing team engineer will tell you - every part has to be high quality and reliable, with this in mind we are lucky enough to be able to call Philidas our partner - their positive locking nuts will form the lifeblood of many of our components.

Hel Brake Lines

We have been gifted brake lines and brake pressure switches from Hel. These gifts ensure the safety of our driver as well as saving us time and money in the design process, as we know we are using kit that can be trusted.

Hewpro Motorsport

Hewpro have manufactured our student designed brake discs to an outstanding quality. Hewpro produce and supply high quality parts to the motor racing and general automotive market. They possess a wealth of knowledge to give guidance on the appropriate components and their design.

HLH Prototypes

With outstanding precision and finish, HLH Prototypes have CNC machined our upright brackets. The production of these parts is one of the key elements in completing the wheel assembly. HLH are a fantastic partner who have been faultless in their support and communication throughout.

Coroplast

We thank Coroplast who are providing the team with the highest quality automotive wiring, which will be essential to the HV electric sub-system of the car. Coroplast’s wiring is extremely safe, shielded and robust which makes it perfect to use in our electric race car.

JWA Tooling

We are extremely thankful for JWA Tooling for machining critical components of the suspension and drivetrain. The complex geometries and CNC machining that are required for such components have taken the team to new heights for the 2016 competition. JWA Tooling’s capabilities include precision CNC milling, turning and wire EDM which is complemented by their in-house test and inspection facility, CAD/CAM manufacturing, assembly and laser engraving divisions.

Sandicliffe Ford Leicester

We could not have competed at Formula Student without the help of Sandicliffe Ford Leicester with the generous donation of a van for transporting our racing car to Silverstone. We would like to extend special thanks for Nick Osborne, Commercial Sales Vehicle Manager.

Precision is a key requirement of a succcessful racing car, without Tube Bender we wouldn't be able to create the roll hoops for the car with the required degree of accuracy to ensure safety and the highlest levels of performance
